Wow, what a night, I think everyone wants to stay in today. Anna has a little bit of heat rash and Laura is shattered. Think we are all feeling last night!
Its quite dull outside today compared to yesterday so it might be a good plan to take in some ruins or even a town, but we shall see what they group decides.
Have finished editing the photos from yesterday and some have come out REALLY well.
Big pat on my back! (Self praise is no praise at all, Sweeney.)
The maid came round today and has cleaned up, the weather got better and Sean, Anna and I are off out in a bit to have a look at the harbour down the road. (I’m crafty. By going with Anna and Andy, I freed the others up to go do Anniversary surprise shopping. Also, it meant I didn’t have to go to the supermarket. Which is always a good thing.) I on the other hand was quite happy to go to the supermarket. I just wasn’t too impressed with the boys shopping strategy. Personally, I don’t understand why we needed to do one lap around the supermarket to see what we would like to buy, then start again and do another lap to actually buy the stuff. Although we got there in the end, and we did buy more cheese than most people will see in their lives. In fact, the woman behind the cheese counter looked mighty shocked that when she gave us one block of sliced cheese, we then asked for another!
Agios Georgios (ΑΓ. ΓΕΟΡΓΙΟΣ), I knew it was called something like that. The fishing boats were in harbour and it was all very pretty. Out on the harbour entrance, the waves were breaking against the Rip Rap with explosive force, pretty frikkin’ sweet I thought.
(It was very cool. There were massive breakers, and to be honest, that’s all I really want from a wave. We couldn’t see any rock pools, but we did see shoals of little fish, craftily swimming right by the moored fishing boats. Ha! That’s the last place they’d expect you to be, little fishies! Well done.)
The weather got a lot better as well, still fairly hazy but much improved.
We went into the Agios Georgios church on the cliff-top, it was really cute, very small but cool compared to the outside temperature. By far the coolest thing was a small clock on the back wall,… of Jesus! (We also spent some time deciphering the Greek writing on the walls and fittings. Andy is joining in the fun now too. Pretty soon, he, Anna and I will be able to read all the danger signs and things, and won’t tell the others. Then, when they get squished or something, we can just laugh, and say, ‘Well, you should have made an effort, shouldn’t you?’ That will be fun.)
On the way home we popped by a take away for some Giros (Gyros) and some chips for lunch. (I had nummy fish and chips. There’s something about eating a kebab (which is what a Gyros is, Andy’s just being poncey) in the middle of the day that strains my drunken 3am English soul.
I then went and got us ice-creams. I have officially eaten more ice-cream in the last few days than ever before. Ooh! That reminds me! I must go back and tell you something that happened when Andy et al went to pick up the hire car.) I do believe that the supermarket-eers enjoyed the spoils of their trip and had a nummy lunch back at the villa.
An afternoon of pool action, then and evening of “Shit-head” after a barbeque. Godly now has another nickname… “Shit-head”
I have discovered that I am quite good at “shithead” despite having no knowledge of it before tonight. I am cool. Was a good laugh anyhow and really looking forward to the next week and a half!

Somehow, Laura has been assigned some of my writing in this section. Just take it as read that if it's good, it should be blue, not purple.
It was the bit about reading the Greek in the church.
